Happy Valentine's Day!! I have some Push Pop goodies to share with you! For some reason I am always the one that sends in the special treats for all the classroom parties! haha! That's ok, I wouldn't have it any other way! I love doing it! I buy my kids teachers love with cupcakes and goodies. :)
So for my sons 4th grade classroom party, I decided to make some Push Pops. I came up with these very pretty, very girly Push Pops, but my oldest daughter Megan reminded me how my son would HATE them, and be super embarrassed! The boys wouldn't want these foo foo Push Pop! So I decided to make Push Pops for the girls, and Push Pops for the boys to make everyone happy.
Here's what I came up with for the girls.

I finally got to use my new heart shaped Push Pop containers! I adore them! I layered the Push Pops with French vanilla cake, Strawberry cake, Red Velvet cake, and white chocolate butter-cream. Yum! Then I melted red Wilton candy melts in a zip lock bag, cut a tiny hole at one end, and on waxed paper I made red chocolate hearts. They didn't take too long to dry at all. They made a great addition to the top I think. I dusted the frosting on top with a little bit of pink and white sugar sprinkle. I thought they needed just a little bit extra. As you all probably know by now, I love bows. I think everything girly needs a bow! So I made up some pink little bows, stuck tiny heart stickers in the middle, then hot glued them on.
Ready for the boys? These were a HUGE hit! I was almost attacked by little kids all throughout the school! They knew exactly what they were, and they wanted them! They were all yelling, "LOOK!! ITS CREEPERS!!!" They were asking, "what classroom are you going too?" They were so bummed when they found out it wasn't their classrooms. Then I felt bad!
Like many of you, I had know idea what a Creeper was. I just found out right before Christmas. Its a very, very popular video game called Minecraft. My son is CRAZY about it! Its actually a good game. Its kind of like Lego's. So I thought, I should make the boys Creeper Push Pops with a heart. You know, "You're my favorite Creeper" haha!

Here's what they looked like together.

I displayed them on our Tiny black Push Pop stand.
This is how I made the different colored cake for the Creepers.
I used vanilla cake batter, split it into 3 different bowls, and colored it three different colors of green.

I tinted it very light green. It doesn't look green at all in pictures, but it was a tiny bit.

This color I made VERY bright green. Again, it doesn't show up as bright in pictures.

Then the last color I used was a dark green.
After all the colors were mixed up, and my cake pan was greased and floured, I put each color cake batter in its own frosting bag. I started with the darkest green and just put little spots all over the pan like this.

Then I just started adding the other colors until all the batter was used.

That's how I made the cake to have the mixed color like a Creeper does!
Oh, and for the face I just used a black sharpie and drew a Creeper face right on the Push Pop container. My son Matthew's 10th birthday is coming up in March, so I figure I will get a lot of uses out of those Creeper containers!

Everyone was very happy with them. I would definitely suggests anything Minecraft for your kids. My son came home from school and said all the girls wanted Creepers too. We had left over girly Push Pops, and the Creepers were all gone. I should of made some Creepers with bows I guess. :)
